WHEN should i start planning?
Well, the short answer is NOW. Volleyball is a fall sport, and begins in August, with tryouts happening BEFORE SCHOOL EVEN STARTS, but there are LOTS of events that happen in the spring and summer that your player can participate in!

GET A PHYSICAL EARLY!
No players are allowed to try out for the season without a completed, current Sports Physical. Physicals are good for 365 days from the date on the form. If you have a physical that will expire during the season (any time August through the end of October), you will need to obtain a new physical.
A few examples:
If you are taking your player in for a checkup at ANY point in the year, have the doctor sign that form, then you'll be set. You won't have to rush to get an appointment, or stress that you can't get in early enough. You can also have the doc sign their own form. Either way, you'll need a good ol' piece of paper that you'll need to upload during the registration process.

A few examples:
- Physical form is dated for 6/12/2021 (so it expires on 6/12/2022) - tryouts are 8/9/2022
- This physical is EXPIRED. You will need a new one before you can tryout.
- Physical form dated for 8/25/2021 (so it expires on 8/25/2022) - tryouts are 8/9/2022
- You'll be permitted to register and tryout with that physical, however, you'll be required to update your physical because it will not be valid during the entire season.
- Physical form dated for 11/17/2021 (so it expires on 11/17/2022) - tryouts are 8/9/2022
- This physical is PERFECT - it will be valid during tryouts, and will not be expired during our entire season. You're good to go.

HOW MUCH DOES VOLLEYBall COST?
The program fee changes from year to year, depending on the expenses we anticipate for the upcoming season, but typically ranges between $300.00-$350.00. This fee does not include the Jeffco Athletic fee, which is typically $175.00
Our FAQ page has more specific information about fees, and how we use them.

VOLLEYBALL IS A CUT SPORT
Volleyball is a cut sport. This probably comes as no surprise. In 2019 89 girls tried out for 47 positions; In 2020 83 girls tried out. You can do the math. There will likely be cuts this year as well. The coaching staff will be looking for coachable athletes who have a great work ethic, love to compete, and want to learn to become better players and teammates. The coaching staff will evaluate attitude, athletic ability, and volleyball skill in determining teams. The one area each and every player that attends the tryout can control is her attitude. Expect to work hard, be helpful, and demonstrate how great of a teammate you can be.
We will post the rosters on the last day of tryouts, after 11:00 pm. We will send an email to the players that have made a team on that evening with a link to register and pay the program fees. If a player did not make a team, and would like to discuss with the coaches why she was cut, please email us to schedule a time with the coaches.
